This project aims to develop suitable and scalable concepts for improving energy efficiency and implementing renewable energy solutions in selected public buildings from various sectors, including health, education, culture, transportation, water and sanitation, among others.
The CFF will assist the city in prioritizing among pre-selected buildings for photovoltaic solar systems (PV) and energy efficiency upgrades based on pre-defined criteria to enable the replicability of the technical and financial models developed in other buildings throughout the city.
These interventions will contribute to achieving the goals of Bogotá’s Climate Action Plan (PAC), which seeks to reduce the city's greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The CFF will support the development of the business and financial model for rooftop photovoltaic solar systems and relevant energy efficiency measures, with a sustainable operation and maintenance model. The CFF will also provide assistance by revising current and possible governance structures for the planning and implementation of similar projects. Additionally, the elaboration of a roadmap will help the city to identify all necessary next steps to advance in energy efficiency and PV solar systems in public buildings in the city.
